Thursday, July 7th Resting Pulse: 54 bpm Weight: 167 lbs. Course: The Wrecking Yard Distance: 4 Miles Time: Not Timed Other Exercises: None Weather: Sunny, 76° Comments: I intended to run six miles today, but I felt so lethargic I cut the distance to four miles. I thought a breakaway would go clear in today's stage of the Tour de France. I figured the sprinters' teams would be getting tired, and the category four climb near the finish would break things open. It didn't exactly happen like that, but the breakaway got clear—although the peleton crashing 700 meters from the finish might be the only reason why. Vinokourev impressed me. His daring, opportunistic move worked, and he nearly won the stage—probably would have, if not for Megnin crashing in front of him. More importantly, Vino took time out of Armstrong's lead. I've believed from the beginning that Vino is the biggest threat on T-Mobile, not Ullrich. He proved it today. WARR: T-minus 72 Days |
