Tuesday, July 5th Resting Pulse: Not Recorded Weight: 167 lbs. Course: Pit Bull Run [House Mix] Distance: 6 Miles Time: 53:48 Other Exercises: None Weather: Cloudy, Muggy, Drizzle, 82° Comments: I ran an easy six miles today. My legs felt tired and heavy, but, thankfully, not sore. I need to pile on some mileage pretty quickly, so I should get used to that feeling, I guess. Well, my prediction for today's Tour de France stage was off. I expected much better things from Phonak, the World TTT champions. I also thought CSC had it in them to beat Discovery Channel. I do have to wonder what the time gap might have been if Zabriskie hadn't crashed. It was disappointing to see the Maillot Jaune go down. I don't see how anyone can beat Armstrong now. No one can touch him the mountains. No one who matters can touch him in an ITT. The TTT was the last chance T-Mobile and CSC had to take time away from him, and they failed to do so. I doubt a breakaway can succeed—any competitive GC rider will be chased down mercilessly. Barring a crash or an illness, this race is already won. WARR: T-minus 74 Days |
