Comments: I ran an easy four miles this morning. I didn't feel as stiff as I did yesterday, but I was a little sore. Along the way I could hear Spotted Towhees calling, even though I couldn't see them. They are one of a handful of birds I can identify by ear. I did see a Northern Flicker. He was pecking away at a telephone pole. I can identify Northern Flickers by ear too, but this one wasn't making any noise beside the thwack of his skull against treated lumber.

So far I'm liking the morning runs.

Sometimes I feel like I'm breathing underwater.
