Comments: I had a race this morning. I thought I ran well. I started out conservatively, then picked it up slightly on the second half of the course. I even managed to pass five people after the turn-around. However, my time was bad. Everyone was complaining of slow times though, and the consensus was that the course was long.

In the afternoon, Angie and I headed downtown to finish our Christmas shopping. We decided to have dinner at Gordon Biersch. We waited nearly an hour for a table, twenty minutes to order, and thirty minutes for our food. When the food came, it was cold. A waiter—not ours—noted our disappointed looks. We sent the food back. A manager talked to us, and he agreed to comp the entrees. When the new food arrived, the manager came back to check on us personally. He asked me if I wanted another beer, and I said yes. He forgot to bring out. It finally came, along with some apologies, and I was glad to notice later that I wasn't charged for it either.  ¶ 9:18 PM
