Wednesday, December 14th

Resting Pulse: Not Recorded
Weight: 166 lbs.
Course: The Wrecking Yard
Distance: 4 Miles
Time: 35:28
Other Exercises: Core (10 min.)
Weather: Foggy, 30°

Comments: I ran an easy four miles this morning. I felt sluggish and weak. Maybe the freezing fog leeched out all my strength. I was quite surprised I finished in less than forty minutes.

As I lurched past a house along my route, I could hear someone inside practicing the bagpipes. It reminded me of the Phantom Bagpiper. When I was at university, one of the professors used to practice during his lunch. No one I know ever saw him; we just heard him. I'm not even sure he was really a professor; that was only a rumor. I had several noontime sports classes, and often the mournful sound of the pipes would fill the air. It certainly added an unusual element to archery and lacrosse.

Sometimes I feel like I'm breathing underwater.
